Employer: Country Christian Church Location: North Branch, Michigan (rural area about an hour north of Detroit) Pay: $45,000 – $55,000 per year Type: Full-time
What You’ll Do:
Lead the family and student ministries by creating and executing a vision for student engagement, mentoring 5th-to-12th graders, supporting families, overseeing children’s ministry transitions, planning retreats and events, and guiding volunteers in building a faith-filled community.
Why It Stands Out:
Clear salary range of $45K–55K, competitive for the region’s cost of living
Chance to shape both youth and family ministry in a hands-on way
Small, tight-knit church community where your impact will be seen and felt
Potential Trade-offs:
Broad responsibilities with fewer staff to share the load
Weekend and evening availability expected
Rural setting may not appeal to those who prefer an urban environment
Would you take this job? Does mentoring students and guiding families in a close-knit church community feel like a calling—or would you prefer a larger-scale ministry role?
At $45–55k, I’d want to know if there’s a housing allowance and health benefits. How big is the church and volunteer team, and do they provide a parsonage or any relocation help?
I’d maybe take it if there’s solid benefits and either a parsonage or housing stipend — $45–55k in rural MI can work, but it’s tight if you’ve got kids and high insurance. I’d also want to know if “family” means kids + youth + parents and whether there’s any volunteer team in place. Do they offer housing assistance?
