Miracle of the multiplying bus passes

I left home with five bus passes for tomorrow’s casework rounds and somehow walked out after coffee hour with seventeen — loaves and fishes, but for public transit, courtesy of three deacons and a grandma who “knew a guy at the county.” Anyone else get accidental miracles when the church hears you’re trying to get folks to court dates and shelters on time?

I started putting a shoebox labeled ‘Bus Pass Drop’ on the info table during coffee hour; between three deacons and a grandma who ‘knew a guy at the county,’ it fills up fast and I can count it before I leave. Small caveat: loop in the treasurer so the surprise bounty doesn’t tangle with restricted funds. Do your folks want them locked in the office, or are you fine stashing them in the narthex till Tuesday court runs?

QR code by the donut tray that links to the transit agency’s bulk-buy page = folks who don’t carry passes can still chip in $5 toward your ‘court-date stash.’ I’d also nab the grandma who ‘knew a guy at the county’ and lock in a monthly bundle so tomorrow’s five turning into seventeen becomes the norm — just watch the expiration dates. @gonzalez85, pairing that with your drop box would cover both cashless folks and pass donors.
